Course Description:

This course will focus on proper diagnosis, treatment planning, and technique steps involved in the creation of implant overdentures and the “All-On 4” type prostheses.

We will cover: 

  1. Maxilla / Mandibular Treatment Planning, including optimal positioning of the implant fixtures

  2. Restorative dentist’s role in the creation of surgical guides for accurate fixture placement

  3. Splinting vs non-splinting of implants for overdentures

  4. Restorative space requirements for various full-arch prostheses

  5. “All-On-4” fixed/detachable prosthesis procedural steps

  6. Clinical step-by-step technique for overdenture fabrication

  7. Tooth selection and positioning for complete overdentures to achieve life-like restorations

  8. Avoiding complications / poor planning, and troubleshooting post-insertion complaints

Course Description:


About the Speaker:

Dr. John DiPonziano has been performing the surgical placement and prosthetic restoration of dental implants since the mid-eighties.


A 1983 graduate of Temple University School of Dentistry, he also completed a three-year didactic and participatory program in Implantology at the University of Pennsylvania in 1988.


He is a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, a credentialed member of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, a Master and LLSR of the Academy of General Dentistry, and a Master of the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics.


He served as President of the New Jersey Academy of General Dentistry in 2003, and Chaired the AGD Implantology Task Force, which formulated universal educational guidelines for implant training in 2009. 

About the Speaker:

George A. Bruder, D.M.D.,  is a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics and the Coordinator of Micro-Endodontics and Endodontic Technologies in the Advanced Graduate Program in Endodontics at Harvard School of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Bruder has delivered more than 500 lectures both nationally and internationally and published numerous articles on Micro-Endodontics and Endodontic technologies. In addition, he has authored and co-authored numerous text book chapters including the chapter on non-surgical Micro-Endodontic Retreatments with Dr. Robert R. White in Color Atlas of Endodontics, by Dr. William Johnson.

Currently, Dr. Bruder divides his time between his family, private practice in Manhattan, NY, and providing the ultimate in hands-on participation continuing education programs held in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, at the facility he co-founded with Dr. Sergio Kuttler, International Dental Institute – Forever Learning (IDIFL). Dr. Bruder serves as CFO and Director at IDIFL.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, participants should be able to implement the steps involved in overdenture and hybrid prothesis fabrication, including their indications and treatment planning, as well as, avoiding and troubleshooting complications.

The Maryland Academy of General Dentistry is designated as an Approved PACE Program Provider by the Academy of General Dentistry.  The formal continuing education programs are accepted by AGD for Fellowship, Mastership and Membership maintenance credit. Approval does not imply acceptance by a state or provincial board of dentisry or AGD endorsement.  The current term of approval extends from January 1, 2017, to December 31, 2020.  Provider ID# 219306
