At what point does a composite restoration become “too big”? For many clinicians, that threshold comes sooner than it should. This provocative, clinically focused lecture explores how direct composite techniques can be used to manage larger, deeper, and more compromised teeth that might traditionally be treated with crowns or indirect restorations.
Dr. Gammichia examines real-world scenarios involving fractured cusps, cracked teeth, deep decay, and post-endodontic cases, helping participants rethink treatment possibilities while understanding the risks, limitations, and rewards of advanced composite dentistry.
Rather than simply discussing technique, this course focuses on clinical decision-making: when to restore, when to protect, and how to approach difficult cases with greater confidence and predictability.

About our Speaker:
Dr. John Gammichia is a 1995 graduate of the University College of Dentistry and has spent more than three decades in full-time private practice. A nationally and internationally recognized lecturer and published author, Dr. Gammichia is best known for his practical, real-world approach to restorative dentistry and his passion for elevating the role of composite restorations in everyday clinical practice.
What truly sets Dr. Gammichia apart is his genuine enthusiasm for dentistry. He is a devoted advocate for advanced composite techniques and is committed to helping clinicians gain confidence in performing complex, predictable, and profitable composite restorations. His lectures are engaging, candid, and rooted in the realities of modern practice—challenging participants to think differently while equipping them with skills they can immediately apply.
Outside the operatory, Dr. Gammichia is married to his college sweetheart and is the proud father of four children. He is active in his church, an avid marathon runner, and an enthusiastic supporter of the Florida Gators, willing to travel just about anywhere to cheer them on.
