Meeting the infection control needs of every dental practice should not be an overwhelming process. An understanding of the applicable laws, prevention techniques and a common-sense approach can produce a simple effective, ongoing program that protects patient and providers alike. A review of current research will provide a scientific basis for infection control policies. Understanding the required protocols and procedures that would be evaluated during a compliance inspection will be included. The course is designed to help satisfy the annual training requirement for MOSH compliance as well as provide infection control continuing education credits required for Maryland dental renewal of license.
About the Speaker:
Lori Serna-Pate has been in the dental field for over 30 years. She studied Microbiology at San Diego State University and soon found out that she enjoyed being around people too much to be in a lab all day. Loma Linda University is where Lori became a Dental Hygienist.
Her love for microbes led her to volunteer to be the Infection Control officer wherever she practiced. She has been enjoying helping others with Infection Control and Regulatory compliance needs for 20 years now.
Her interactive and entertaining courses employ a practical approach to enable health professionals to survive the changing array of communicable disease laws and work safely in today’s dental office.
Since coming to Maryland in 2015 she has enjoyed presenting programs for MAGD, MSDA, various Dental Societies as well as Dental Study groups
