Soft tissue grafting is a highly technique-sensitive procedure that plays a critical role in achieving predictable, esthetic, and functional outcomes around teeth and implants. This hands-on course is designed to give general dentists a clear, practical understanding of the factors that drive success, whether you are performing these procedures or referring them out.
Participants will build a strong foundation in the anatomic principles that influence soft tissue outcomes, including morphology, tooth position, and underlying bone support. By learning to recognize structural defects and differentiate between types of tissue deficiencies, attendees will be better equipped to diagnose conditions accurately and make informed treatment decisions. The course also emphasizes the importance of aligning clinical realities with patient expectations, helping dentists communicate more effectively and build trust in proposed treatment plans.
Through case-based examples that separate clinical fact from theory, this seminar connects foundational knowledge to real-world application. A key component of the course is hands-on learning, where participants will apply techniques, become familiar with instrumentation, and practice a simplified, step-by-step approach to root coverage procedures. Attendees will also gain insight into grafting materials and the role of growth factors in healing.
Ultimately, this course provides practical tools to enhance clinical confidence, improve patient outcomes and satisfaction, and support the overall success of the dental practice.
Course Objectives:
Participants in this course will be able to:
-
Appreciate features for diagnosing structural defects in hard and soft tissue
-
Understand outcomes by recognizing anatomic structures
-
Review communication techniques for aligning patient expectations
-
Determine which instruments are used in grafting procedures
-
Compare grafting materials and their proper use
-
Discover growth factors that enhance healing
-
Differentiate defect type to determine appropriate grafting technique
-
Learn how to perform root coverage procedures (with a simple four step process)
